In the morning there was a knife attack on policemen in central London. Unofficial reports say that one of the policemen was hit in the neck with a knife. The motives are unknown. London Mayor Sadiq Khan quickly commented on the attack, describing it as “terrifying”.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said the attack on police officers took place around 6 a.m. outside Leicester Square.u. The policemen noticed a man with a knife and tried to stop him.
The man attacked the officers. It is known that 1 person was injured.
“The knife was incapacitated with a taser. He was detained on suspicion of assault and serious bodily injury to an officer” , a police spokesman quoted by dailymail.co.uk said.
