Two children died in a car fire near Multyfarnham in County Westmeath, Northern Ireland. The circumstances of the tragedy are being investigated.

According to the services, there is no evidence that the vehicle was used in a collision, so an investigation was initiated and an autopsy was ordered.
At around 4 p.m. the service received the news of the fire. They were informed by the motorcycle driver who witnessed the fire. A mother and her two children were in the car. The five and three-year-old children are dead and the mother is in a serious condition in the hospital and is fighting for her life.
