On the air of the program 60 Minutes on the Rossija 1 channel, they showed a video in which the Queen of Great Britain, Elizabeth II, reportedly throws food straight to the ground at African children, and they pick it up. In fact, Russian propagandists were lying when they showed a film by director Gabriel Weir in 1899, 27 years before the Queen was born.

“This is Elizabeth, here is the queen in her youth. Oh, that’s how she fed the children. Look at this goodness, as for animals in the zoo “ – the presenter thundered.
The video was also distributed on Facebook and Twitter as photos of Elizabeth II, but some users pointed out that it was fake.
A frame from the material shot by Weir in the Annam protectorate during the French colonization of Indochina (now Vietnam) has been published on the Catalog Lumière website. The video shows two women (wife and daughter of Governor General Paul Doumer, who became president of France in 1931–1932) throwing money at local children.
