Piece by piece, Russia was conquering new territories of Ukraine at a very slow pace. Now the Ukrainians are carrying out a counteroffensive and, unlike the Russians, they are rapidly regaining their territories.
“Ukrainian forces have reached Izium in the Kharkiv region” – confirmed Volodymyr Macokin, the deputy mayor of this city in eastern Ukraine. – “September 10 is the day Iziumu is liberated from the hands of the Russian army” he added.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has not yet officially confirmed the recovery of the city, but Battalion commander Svoboda Petro Kuzyk said that Russian troops had withdrawn under pressure from the Ukrainian army.
According to local authorities, fierce fighting is taking place near Lyman in the Donetsk region. On the other hand, in the Luhansk region near the occupied Lisichansk, there is already a Ukrainian army.
