A 70-year-old woman from Long Island, USA, was attacked by her own pit bull. She could not be saved.
The New York Post described what happened. Marina Verriest’s body was discovered by her husband. The dog was tearing the flesh and eating. The man called the police. The dog lunged at the officer so he was shot by him.
When the policeman saw the condition of the woman’s body, he required help. He was taken to hospital due to trauma.
The 7-year-old pitbull belonged to the woman’s stepson. The owner died in a motorcycle accident. The stepson lived with his dog and relatives in the same house and it is unknown why the dog attacked the woman.
