Peace negotiations stopped. Meanwhile, Russian troops made significant progress in eastern Ukraine. Vadim Skibicki, the representative of the military intelligence of Ukraine, presents the situation and gives the probable date of the end of the war.
In an interview with the independent radio station Krym.Realii, Wadim Skibicki reveals that the war will continue. This is evidenced by strengthening the Russians in their positions and building engineering structures. As he says, the goal of the Russians is now to surround the Ukrainian army in the east of the country and to reach the borders of the Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts. Heavy fighting is underway in the east, but the number of Russian troops is greater, and recently the Russian army has achieved considerable results.
According to the chief of intelligence, the war may last until winter, but there are many different possible dates. According to Radio Swoboda it is i.a. September 11 – local elections in many regions of the country. According to information from Ukraine, referenda are to be held on the same day in the Donetsk and Lugansk oblasts on their joining Russia. The second possible date is October 7 – Vladimir Putin’s 70th birthday.
