The European Union recommends member states to stockpile of iodine tablets, protective suits and medical supplies, reports the Financial Times.

Atomic agencies across Europe say there is no cause for concern at the moment. Nevertheless, residents of countries closer to Ukraine, such as Poles, Czechs, Belgians and Bulgarians, make supplies on their own. Experts warn not to take any medications at the moment. In the absence of radiation, they can harm rather than help and permanently damage vital organs.
The European Union explains that it is drawing conclusions from the Covid-19 pandemic – then no country was ready to fight the virus. Now the community wants to be prepared for any eventuality.
