Xi Jinping spoke in a similar tone today. The Chinese leader held a video meeting with US President Joe Biden. Details are unknown. Before the end of the meeting, Chinese media published Xi Jinping’s communiqué in which he stated that the conflict in Ukraine is not in anyone’s interest. After the meeting, a short message was added – I told President Biden that relations between our countries cannot lead to a confrontation – said Xi Jinping, whose words were quoted by Reuters.
Another strong signal came from the Chinese ambassador in Ukraine. “China will never attack Ukraine. We will help, especially economically” – declared Fan Xianrong in the press release of the Lviv regional government.
